Lupe Tortilla - a restaurant with roots in Texas and a reputation for serving handcrafted, high-quality Texas-Mex cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Established in 1983 in a modest 1940s-frame house in Houston, it quickly became a local favorite. Lupe Tortilla has stayed true to its standards—only fresh ingredients, scratch-made recipes, and cozy but evolving atmosphere. Lupe Tortilla’s menu is made of Tex-Mex tradition, crafted with authenticity. The attention to detail doesn’t stop there: limes are hand-squeezed, the famous lime-pepper-marinated fajitas are renowned, and their signature margaritas are made to order with fresh squeezed juices and premium tequilas.

Between 1960 and 1975, European film production companies made nearly 600 westerns. Critics either blasted or ignored these films, and because they were financed by Italian companies, they called them spaghetti westerns. Fans of the genre embraced the term which is now lovingly used to label any western made and financed by continental film makers. Jax Grill was established in Houston in 1993 at 6510 S Rice Ave. in the Bellaire community. A second location at 1613 Shepherd Dr. opened in 1994. Our counter-service restaurant features a 100% scratch kitchen and live fire mesquite grill. Our menu is highlighted by the classic half-pound Jax Burger, Jax Margaritas and other classic Texan fare. Owned by Paul Miller and Gr8 Plate Hospitality since 2015, we recently expanded with a third location in Katy at 9910 Gaston Rd., Suite 200.
